Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial Cupping

Release Tension, Improve Mobility

At My Rehab Co in Currumbin, we use Myofascial Cupping as a gentle, non-invasive therapy to release tight fascia, reduce scar tissue restriction, and restore healthy movement. This treatment is ideal for easing muscle tension, improving flexibility, and enhancing recovery after injury.

Modern myofascial cupping uses controlled suction to decompress and release fascia, the connective tissue surrounding muscles. When fascia becomes tight or stuck, it can restrict movement and cause discomfort. The cups create a gentle vacuum on the skin, lifting and separating the underlying layers. This process encourages better blood flow, reduces stiffness, and improves tissue mobility.

Our practitioners glide the cups smoothly over the affected areas while maintaining consistent pressure. This method is particularly effective for lower back tension, tight calves and hamstrings, or IT band discomfort often seen in runners and athletes.

Cupping also helps reduce scar tissue restrictions that may develop after surgery or injury. Once the initial healing phase has passed, we can use gliding cup techniques to soften fibrous adhesions and restore natural movement. For example, patients with old hamstring injuries or post-surgical scars often experience noticeable improvements in flexibility and range of motion after treatment.

This safe, painless technique supports long-term musculoskeletal health and works well alongside other manual therapies or rehabilitation exercises. Myofascial cupping helps your body move more freely—so you can perform, recover, and live with less pain.
